Welcome to Kendall’s K9 Tips

Latest from the Blog

Introduction

Hi my name is Kendall Peterson, and I am a Girl Scout from Troop 4461. I am currently in the process of completing my Silver Award project. The Silver Award project is the second highest award a Girl Scout can achieve, we focus on and issues we care about and then take steps to make change. This website will guide you in how to take care of your dog, I will walk you through topics like what foods your dog should eat and what foods to avoid with your K9, or how long your dogs walls should be and many other helpful topics. When Covid-19 started my family and I would’ve never imagined getting a dog or a pet better yet. When we got our cockapoo Prince we felt so much more happier and cheerful, we would laugh and smile at the things he’d do, getting a dog is one of the best decision a person can make. I will be blogging once every 2 weeks and take you through the process of taking care of your K9!

Blog #1: Nutrient for your K9

Dogs need a healthy balanced meal. Personally, I highly recommend the Farmer’s Dog food, my dog Prince loves their chicken recipe. They’re a variety of recipes that are healthy and packed with the nutrition your dog needs. The food is made fresh and is so easy to prepare, and you know that your dog is eating the healthful meal they need. Dogs should be eating no less than twice a day but also take into account the breed, age or size of your dog. A full grown Rottweiler may need to be fed 3 times a day compared to my cockapoo Prince who is much smaller than a full grown Rottweiler,  so he usually will eat twice a day which would be around 7am and then again at 5pm. When feeding your dog you should try to avoid feeding them human foods since human food is too rich and fatty for a dog’s digestive system. Though slipping a few apple slices won’t be harmful you should try to avoid it because, it could develop bad habits for your K9. Some foods you should definitely avoid feeding your dog are grapes or raisins, chocolate, avocado, coffee and heavy salt products. Good luck and see ya next week!!
